Juana Burga

Is the only Peruvian model to have walked the runway for high fashion designers around the world, as well as appearing in multiple covers for different magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, among others. In addition to her work in modeling and acting, Juana is an ambassador in Peru for Vidawasi (first citadel of child pediatric health in Latinoamerica), as well she has been working to protect the artisans who produce sustainable products who then export the material worldwide. In her eyes, they are “the engine of sustainable fashion”.

For the past five years, Juana has been documenting the Peruvian artisans to thereby be able to empower and protect the original Inca craft and give them bigger opportunities in a modern world. Driven by a passion for her Peruvian heritage and traditions, Juana Burga created Nuna Awaq to support and empower Peruvian artisans while sharing their craft with the world.
